Angling in Shetland

There are over 300 varied lochs available to fish in Shetland, with Yell, Unst, Whalsay, Fetlar, Bressay and Mainland Shetland all of great interest to anglers. Shetland is a popular choice for anglers with the mild summer climate, long hours of daylight known locally as the 'simmer dim', and the added benefit of an 'open' permit giving anglers freedom to explore.

Promote Shetland have published a new brochure on trout fishing, which contains maps and details to more than 70 of the best angling locations in the islands, as well as information on boats, fish species and access. You can purchase this brochure for just £2 (excl. p&p).
